Terms of Service

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern the use of astrology and destiny analysis API services (the "Service") provided by Destiny Engine ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") and establish the rights, obligations, responsibilities, terms and conditions of use between the Company and users.

Article 2 (Definitions)

  1. "Service" means the API services for calculating and interpreting Western astrology (AstroEngine), Saju (Four Pillars), Jami (Purple Star Astrology), and other destiny analysis systems provided by the Company.
  2. "User" or "Member" means any individual or entity that enters into a service agreement with the Company under these Terms and uses the Service.
  3. "API Key" means a unique authentication token issued by the Company for accessing the Service.
  4. "Usage Tier" means the classification system (Free, Starter, Pro, Enterprise, etc.) that determines API call limits.

Article 3 (Effect and Amendment of Terms)

  1. These Terms become effective when posted to all users who wish to use the Service and when users agree to them during registration.
  2. The Company may amend these Terms within the scope not violating applicable laws, and will notify users at least 7 days prior to the effective date, specifying the effective date and reason for amendment.
  3. If a user does not agree to the amended Terms, either the Company or the user may terminate the service agreement.

Article 4 (Provision of Service)

  1. The Company provides the following services:
    • Western astrology natal chart calculation and interpretation
    • Synastry, Composite, and Transit analysis
    • Saju (Four Pillars) chart extraction and interpretation
    • Jami (Purple Star Astrology) chart creation and fortune analysis
    • AI-powered comprehensive interpretation services
  2. The Service is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in principle, but may be temporarily suspended due to system maintenance, server failures, or other unavoidable circumstances.
  3. The Company may change the content and functions of the Service to improve service quality after prior notice.

Article 5 (Registration and Contract Formation)

  1. Those who wish to use the Service apply for membership by completing the registration form provided by the Company and agreeing to these Terms.
  2. The Company will register as members those who apply for membership under Section 1, unless any of the following applies:
    • Using another person's name
    • Providing false information
    • Having previously lost membership qualification
    • Not meeting other requirements set by the Company
  3. The service agreement is formed at the time of membership registration, and the Company issues an API key.

Article 6 (API Key Management and Security)

  1. Members are responsible for managing their API keys and may not transfer or lend them to third parties.
  2. If an API key is compromised, members must immediately notify the Company and follow the Company's guidance.
  3. The Company is not liable for damages caused by leakage, theft, or misuse of API keys unless the member has intent or gross negligence.
  4. Members can rotate or revoke their API keys through the Developer Portal.

Article 7 (Usage Limits and Rate Limiting)

  1. The Company limits API call frequency by tier to ensure service stability:
    • Free Tier: 100 calls per month
    • Starter Tier: 1,000 calls per month
    • Pro Tier: 10,000 calls per month
    • Enterprise Tier: Custom negotiated limits
  2. When usage limits are exceeded, HTTP 429 (Too Many Requests) errors will be returned, and additional calls will be restricted until the next billing cycle.
  3. Members can monitor real-time usage through the Developer Portal and will receive email notifications when reaching 80% and 100% of their limits.

Article 8 (User Obligations)

  1. Users must not engage in the following activities:
    • Commercial activities using the Service (without prior approval)
    • Intentionally disrupting the Company's service operations
    • Collecting, storing, or disclosing other members' personal information
    • Reselling or providing data obtained through the API to third parties
    • Exploiting security vulnerabilities of the Service
    • Excessive requests using automated tools (bots, scripts, etc.)
    • Violating applicable laws and regulations
  2. Users may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service without the Company's prior written consent.

Article 9 (Service Suspension)

  1. The Company may temporarily suspend the Service in the following cases:
    • System inspection, maintenance, replacement, failure, communication disruption, etc.
    • When telecommunications carriers suspend their services as defined by the Telecommunications Business Act
    • National emergencies, power outages, service facility failures, or other force majeure events
  2. The Company may suspend all or part of the Service after prior notice, or may provide notice afterwards in urgent cases.

Article 10 (Limitation of Liability)

  1. This Service provides astrological and destiny analysis information and cannot replace professional advice in medicine, law, finance, investment, or other specialized fields.
  2. Users use information obtained through this Service for reference purposes only, and users are solely responsible for all judgments and decisions based on such information.
  3. The Company does not assume liability for damages in free services, and for paid services, is not liable for indirect, special, or consequential damages unless there is intent or gross negligence.
  4. The Company is exempt from liability when service provision is impossible due to force majeure such as natural disasters, wars, telecommunications carrier service suspension, hacking, or DDOS attacks.
  5. The Company has no obligation to intervene in disputes between users or between users and third parties arising from the Service and is not liable for damages resulting from such disputes.

Article 11 (Contract Termination and Usage Restrictions)

  1. Members may request account deletion at any time through the Developer Portal, and the Company will immediately process the deletion.
  2. The Company may terminate the service agreement or restrict service use for a certain period after prior notice if a member:
    • Violates Article 8 (User Obligations)
    • Intentionally disrupts service operations
    • Uses another person's API key
    • Has not used the Service for more than 3 months (dormant account conversion)
  3. When the Company terminates the service agreement, it will delete the member registration and notify the member.

Article 12 (Intellectual Property Rights)

  1. Intellectual property rights and other rights related to the Service and software, images, marks, logos, designs, service names, information, and trademarks included in the Service belong to the Company.
  2. Users may not reproduce, transmit, publish, distribute, broadcast, or otherwise use information obtained through the Service or allow third parties to use it without the Company's prior consent.

Article 13 (Dispute Resolution)

  1. The Company and users shall make all necessary efforts to amicably resolve disputes arising from the Service.
  2. If disputes are not resolved despite the efforts in Section 1, the Seoul Central District Court of the Republic of Korea shall have jurisdiction.
  3. All matters related to these Terms and use of the Service shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.

Article 14 (Privacy Protection)

The Company strives to protect users' personal information as prescribed by relevant laws. Matters regarding the collection, use, storage, and processing of personal information are governed by the separate Privacy Policy.

Article 15 (Notices)

  1. When the Company notifies members, it will send notifications to the email address registered by the member.
  2. For notices to an unspecified number of members, the Company may post on the Developer Portal notice board in lieu of individual notices.

Supplementary Provisions

These Terms are effective as of October 22, 2025.
